Conducting school-based research during Covid: evaluating the Silver Stories programme

This paper presents findings from a small-scale pilot evaluation of the Silver Stories programme. involves school-age children reading to older people in community and is way addressing literacy emotional difficulties, as well enhancing wellbeing. The authors collected analysed questionnaire interview data after school term programme implementation, across five schools England Wales, during period third lockdown. main finding was that participants experienced an opportunity for relationship-building between generations, highlighting relational nature ‘literacy event’ wellbeing product social interaction rather than individual attribute. also indicated priorities might have shifted due COVID-19 academic attainment focus on support. Although this likely temporary phase, it build back better.
